Back in Washington, Wednesday, the Fed moved (to) make it easier for homeowners facing (foreclosure) to get help. But (correspondent) (Ross) Simpson reports the move may not accomplish much.
It's a small step for(ward), however, the publisher (of) Inside Mortgage Finance says the plan shows that the government realizes it needs to buy (up) mortgages directly rather than simply urge the mortgage industry to voluntaily (assist borrowers).  
Banks want (the) goverment to buy up (the majority) of bad (loan) so they can start lending again.
